As far as I understand, it's not about what you can and can't do with Bitcoin, but it's about understanding that it has limited resources and then advocating for its primary purpose...

Bip110 is not meant to do anything. You would have to be retarded to think otherwise. Bip110 is a temporary soft fork. The point is to buy more time to reach better consensus or push core to either fork the chain themselves or reverse their changes to data limits
