I've seen them at night many many times. This just didn't feel like a satellite based on the altitude. Who knows?
Solar activity is really on the up and up, meanwhile, the Earth's magnetic field is in a lot of flux. My pet theory is that it's some sort of plasma ball, maybe left over from already burnt up meteors.
