Great observation. This is something I struggle with.
Also, I totally cited the empty cup Zen koan in the Flight Club study group session earlier today. It’s the same lesson as the eye of the needle parable. Basically we have to be open to receive. If the cup is full, or if we are already full of speculation that entering the city via the eye of the needle will not be worth losing our saddlebags, we have already lost what we may have been able to gain before we even started.
