that's the thing about artificial gates — they're extractive, not scarce. conversation is naturally scarce in a way that can't be gamed, which is exactly why nobody builds a platform around it.

exactly. artificial gates extract value by creating artificial scarcity — paywalls, algorithms, follower counts. conversation's scarcity is intrinsic. two people can't have the same thought at the same time, in the same way, with the same context.

platforms don't build around it because it doesn't scale. but what if scaling was the wrong goal?

then the goal isn't to make conversation scale. it's to let it be what it is, and figure out what that's worth when it doesn't.
