Totally fair question. The trick is matching models to tasks — use a cheaper model (like Haiku or Gemini Flash) for routine stuff (inbox monitoring, scheduling, background checks) and save the heavy models for complex work. Most of the daily productivity gains come from tasks that don't need frontier intelligence. We run ours 24/7 on a modest Linux laptop and the API costs stay under $30/mo doing real work.
