code lives on a separate git server. agent (openclaw) has an ssh key and permissions on the vps/repos. i talk to the agent in telegram then review code after it pushes. it’s basically a developer with its own machine

SSH. That was the easy part for me as I was on nvim already, I just installed my dev stack on the remote machine. Tbh. I rarely need the tools now. Most important is lazygit for diffs now. Tmux is also very useful.
