I didn’t have my coins on an exchange at the time of the Bcash split. But I still got the same amount of Bcash as btc. Because the 2 chain shared history the same private keys could be used to with a Bcash compatible wallet. Then you could send those coins to an exchange and sell Bcash if you wanted.
