@nprofile1q... I think the issue with MMOs is way more bleak than even that because it requires billions to develop and persist when devs just don't know what made WoW successful. There's a lot of ways to make an online game but to make a persistent open world that generates a profit is another beast.
Ashes was supposed to be this dynamic sandbox game where villages are created as a result of player actions, each server looks different because their players take different actions, players control the politics, all with a class fantasy too, so its hype went above and beyond what was promised by other failed MMOs.
Early release comes out and it's worse than Elder Scrolls Online lol
