Yeap I agree with you on the first paragraph.
Regarding the bitcoin fork failure, I am mostly happy about it, since it looked like derangement syndrome act, but I disagree about "you can't change bitcoin" part.. I believe definitely you can, with small steps at a time making small changes that divert the initial trajectory in the long term.
Bitcoin core has changed as people working and being part of it surely change during the years, and even if there would be some from the start, for sure he is not the same person he was when it started and very likely his incentives did change also.. everything in this universe does change, and I am ok with it.
Ossification doesn't mean something stays the same.. the word itself says it. Probably comes from latin/italian ossificare-ossificazione, osso is a bone, and that's the word to describe the mechanisms of how bones recreate after a fracture or small break. Like for thaybox people whrn they constantly kick with their shins since they are young making small micro fractures that agter years donmake their shin bones much thicker and strong and able to break like they are made of iron... Sorry for the tangent.
I do like bitcoin ossification in that sense.. I do fear anyway the creation of an elite devs cohort, a board, a Core, or whatever the name that have social power able to centralising ideas and so potentially being captured or manipulated by adversarial third parties..
