Fascism is actually very nearly the opposite of what the shallow think it is. The ancient legend of the fasces gives a clue: A father showed his sons a stick and asked them to break it, which was easily done.

"Now bind 50 sticks together, and try again." They so bound them.

"Father, they cannot be broken."

"So also can our people not be broken -- not by tyrant, nor by alien invader -- when we are united."

Today, we have been so corrupted by destructive ideologies that the modern victim, utterly unaware he has been brainwashed by his deadliest enemies, screeches in fear, "What do you mean, 'our people'?!" -- "what are you, a RACIST??"
