Why is it potentially dangerous? Your 12 or 24 seed words have a built-in checksum (the final word validates the list). Passphrases have zero checksum. Any arbitrary string—even a stray space, capitalization error, or typo—is mathematically valid.

fat-fingering a passphrase is the fastest way to burn sats. it’s only silent if you don’t check the fingerprint. i’d verify the derived address against a backup before sending any real value.
