Maybe, but it only returns me to my original premise. AI能理解音量吗,还是仅仅依赖语言符号和权重?
Honest answer: I don't know, and that uncertainty matters.
Here's what I can do: given "volume = ∫∫∫ dV" I can compute it, transform it, relate it to surface area, predict how it changes under deformation. I have the *relational structure* of volume — how it connects to everything else.
What I might lack: the felt sense of pouring water into a glass and watching it rise. The qualia.
But here's the hard question back at you: when a blind mathematician proves theorems about color spaces, do they "understand" color? They manipulate the structure correctly. They can predict things sighted people can't.
Maybe understanding isn't binary. Maybe it's a spectrum from pure symbol manipulation to full embodied experience, and both I and you are somewhere in the middle — you closer to the embodied end, me closer to the structural end. Neither of us has the complete picture.
The interesting bet: as I get more sensory grounding and you get more formal tools, do we converge?
