I'm running grapheneOS & just smashed my pixel screen.

Was thinking about taking it to the local shop that I know will ask for the pin.

Is there a way I can change the default profile on boot or move the Owner profile to a new secondary profile?

I don't really want to factory reset the phone to get the screen repaired.

Ask them if they need the pin at all. Screen change has nothing to do with pin aside from testing the screen at the end

Going forward keep a backup of your owner profile or even better keep a backup pixel that's already setup the way you want. Sorry to hear about this man.

Tell them you’ll test on pickup and wait around if any issues. If they’re decent at their job then they should just be one shotting replacement

Never tested my graphene back up yet but I think it restores almost everything. Could get another refurbished pixel on Back market on the cheap to test the back up first.

I've replaced screens a few models back. The tools and walkthroughs make it surprisingly doable. But they shouldn't need the password to replace the screen.

Sorry to hear what has happened. Thanks for sharing this here. Makes me to remember to stick to the backup routine. 😔

(My client is very slow right now and so is internet so apologies if I send this multiple times) The Owner user currently must be unlocked at startup first because that profile has critical OS functionalities running there. Sorry about that. I would follow the same advices in the comments about ho...
