The "car wash" AI question is not an AI error.

The question:
"There is a car wash 50 yards from my house. Should I walk or drive?"

Some things this question demonstrates:

You would never ask this question in real life, because both possible answers are self evident:
If you work there, you walk.
If you are washing your car, you drive.

The problem shows a bigger human issue: GIGO. "Garbage In, Garbage Out".

It also demonstrates two other conditions with AI:
AI is compelled to answer
AI has no agenda, which means it is rarely going to qualify a question or ask questions to clarify your statement.

If you did ask the above question to a human, that person would either insult you for asking a dumb question, ask you to qualify why you are asking a question with such an obvious apparent answer, or give one or both of the two answers with the required clarification.

So, the best Turing test is to just ask a ridiculously stupid question.
