ok so it's a well known fact that nostalgia revivals of bygone decades enumerate slightly faster than real time: it used to all be weird old stuff, then it's stuff you remember, now it's stuff that's like hey that's not even old yet! eventually the event horizon will catch up to the present day, and then things will get weird. at the current rate in which our memories are watered down and sold back to us 2040s nostalgia will arrive before the 2040s.
