I'm a just a small town AAA graphics programmer in Chicago. I worked on Gears 5 and Gears Tactics. My work is secret, but my personal projects are not.

I like to post about my personal research, various side projects, and I like to think out loud a lot. Expect weird humor, esoteric ramblings, and occasionally also art I made out of math. I like implicit surface modeling the normal amount. Chronic pain enthusiast. 🏳️‍⚧️

@nprofile1q... also I'm not able to imagine sounds with much fidelity. The way I reason about sound design and music composition is very reliant on rapid experimentation and finding ways to visualize ideas. I don't think I of myself as a particularly accomplished musician though, but I also don't feel like it holds me back tremendously either.

@nprofile1q... I remember once coming across an accomplished digital artist on twitter who claimed to have aphantasia. Most of how you grow as an artist is through direct observation and practice, so it makes sense to me that a mind's eye is more of a nice to have.
