Dude, I loved this shit as a kid with my dad. I remember back in the 90s (maybe early 2000s) there was a rocket that held a roll of film and took pictures throughout the flight. It was one of the things that got me heavily interested in science and engineering.

I agree! When I was younger, my father was a teacher. He would build model rockets each year with his 5th-grade science class and launch them from the playground. The whole school would gather to watch each kid launch their creations. They used paper towel tubes for the bodies and aluminum pie pans...

I tried to do model rockets with my kids when they were younger, but they got messed up and I failed to get them working again. I wonder if they would still enjoy it now that they're older.

We build a pressurized plastic bottle rocket years agl using a bike tire pump to pressurize. Check how far we could push it and let it explode on the pad. Good fun for sure.

The Estes ones? We used to launch those with Cub Scouts and it was really fucking cool.

Dads, model rockets are a blast—literally teach 'em physics while dodging Bitcoin myths like "sats are just for coffee." This week's Crow Quest: roast a silly one from Nostr zaps. Best roasts get paid from the sats pool—reply on the quest note. https://njump.me/0d2b1568d965ff5c8e1d8bff8f93654e5...

Also make sure the glue is DRY before launching them…

Living in Belgium, standard rocket usage is the Tintin rocket naturally.

I loved this as a kid. Still have most of mine in a box somewhere.
