If your threat model is a individually targeted APT from a TLA no email service can protect you. You are going to need to manually PGP everything before it ever sees a network for a 10% chance of success.
99% of people will have 99% of their real email problems solved by proton, especially if they make use of Protons partnership with simplelogin.
