The fact the game is proprietary in the first place is a problem, but the kernel DRM goes so far beyond that it's on another level entirely.

And it being mandatory is a major preservation issue, it also prevents modifying the game itself so that say... someone can run it properly on a potato computer if they're willing to bear with "crappy" third-party shaders or models.

So not only is the proprietary malware in itself a problem, but it makes every other problem worse too.
