The problem I see with that is that it's frequent for fedi to improperly federate edits or deletions.

I found that out as I do tend to use edits to improve subpar phrasing of my posts sometimes and semi-frequently get replies that visibly did not see my edits (and checking from their instance shows the edits never propagated).

If you are a (major, especially) account and you posted something that turned out to be wrong, please either delete the post or correct it. People will not read the correction you posted in an extra post below and not the comments by other people, they'll keep sharing the origin Show more

Thinking about it, it's pure fluke I ended up coding.

If digital art stuff had been more affordable that's almost certainly where I'd have gone.
