IMO people generally don’t care for app customization and personalization. Those things are great for power users but the vast majority of people simply don’t care. They might be happy with some nice presets but don’t want to dive into all sorts of custom setup. For the most part they expect things to work and to solve some need - be it entertainment, connection or staying up to speed on current events, getting in touch with people etc… (JTBD)
