I’m convinced that 95% of all “new” music is just people listening to old music and magically coming up with the same tunes that they attributed to their own creativity.

So many times I listen to a super old song and hear what went into the “new” song everyone is listening to.

I get that there’s a process for repurposing music but I bet a lot of it is just stuck from being exposed to classics.

You don't know? Publishers have song writers and data. They DO create variations of the same tune and lyrics, then find artists to perform it.

That happens in all arts. Every artist has influences from the same art or others.

At least half of all pop music is the same song but different lyrics. Other genres not as bad but within each genre, they recycle the same things over and over.

Correct and that's okay. Less than five percent of artists are truly original, and most of those, most people don't like particularly much (zappa, devo, dylan). Same with food, most "new" recipes are just rehashed old ideas, lacking original nutritional value.
