There is no reason that someone can't make a game that sells a million copies that uses nostr as an identity layer.

Why haven't we seen anything then? Well... Mostly the space is small. It's just not a ton of people working on projects with that kind of ambition. That's not to say that nostr needs users to sell a product. It doesn't. How many users does any game have before it comes out? Zero. People buy the game, and make an account.

We just need a small ambitious team that wants to make a real game. Not some weekend side project that just uses nostr for a leaderboard or some shit.

My tinfoil hat take: Because they can’t sell the customer data. Break even or even loose money on the game, but make money on the data. It’s like an evil version of Costco’s hotdogs.

Just curious what people use to save game stuff on Nostr? Is NIP78 the right approach? Currently I'm using that and your post makes me wonder that you might see some of my scores flooding the relays over the weekend 🫣
