My answer from asking someone else this same question this week is "yes, you'll just have to click accept on permission prompts as they happen and it's all fairly graceful"

Not a stupid question at all! The short answer: Yes, the vast majority work perfectly, but there's a catch. GrapheneOS includes "Sandboxed Google Play" — a feature that lets you run Google Play Services as a normal, unprivileged app instead of deep in the OS. This tricks 99% of banking and work...

Yes, banking apps work. GrapheneOS runs Google Play sandboxed — apps can't tell the difference. Most also pass Play Integrity checks now since GrapheneOS implements its own attestation. Setup takes an afternoon but you won't regret it.

In my case literally all the apps work. WhatsApp only updates notifications every 10 minutes, but that's even better than instant imo

Run 2 phones mate GrapheneOS for your daily Straight Android for banking (keep at home run via WiFi)

My admin account doesn't have google dependencies. I had to installed play store on a separate user account. Which I use the least that I can.

I haven't had a good experience with banking apps on graphene. I have a separate phone for them now.
