Chicken and Egg problem. What do we need to do (apart from more shows) cos if the disconnect is not worth it cos "money" then do they need to learn about money or permissions? I'm all ears.

Thanks @No Good Kid 🙏⚡ Smart insights. I don't fully agree with everything, but I see a lot of valid points. 1/. I don't think the average artist gets much, if anything at all, from traditional platforms (Spotify, YT, etc.), so why not add music to RSS and see what happens??? I'd assume they'd at least get some stats (better than zero). (!!!) Side note: by "valueverse" we're talking about the global open library, not just Nostr. 2/. As Aaron said, live stream performances can bring in more tips, I've sent it many times, but unfortunately that's a bit of a struggle (not everyone can arrange a stream, and I totally get that).

On the "chicken and egg problem," Aaron @New Music Nudge Unit — which I see as really painful — and here I agree with NoGoodKid, "there are a few people" as those supporting art overall, are in fact SATs themselves. Even many Bitcoiners refuse to spend just a bit from their stack, and all the newbies have no idea how to get them, while the whole process is, let's be honest, totally ridiculous (exchanges, KYC, wallets, onchain - lightning, etc.). I was discussing exactly this stuff at a meet-up where I brought up the topic of v4v music. People got interested but this was the bottle neck. So, personally would love to see for example something like prepaid online cards with SATs that we could offer to newbies, there could but themselves too — and here esp., a big role of Nostr clients + some v4v players, with an important clear note that LN enables micropayments, something any fiat infrastructure sucks at + that's fast and direct. For example: charge the card with $5–$10 and keep tipping the music you love many times.
a) It gives you the dopamine hit , you don't spend it all at once / supporting others even a little makes your brain happy. b) You send it directly to the artist's wallet, something they own — not a bank account, etc. I know it wouldn't make a huge difference to artists at the beginning but it will let a new person to experience the thing and get used to.

But first, I'd love to see more Bitcoin owners take care of this topic, to be the example we need, to let the circulation flow.

Meanwhile, let's keep working, building, sharing. Step by step. Not giving up.

💯 Also, on the point of having a mechanism to give audience the ability to zap the artists; this is one key thing that will accelerate growth. Route should be simple: £5-£10pp in sats distributed pre-event or at the door > QR’s and leaderboard in room > stream Also organisers/promoters li...

I love this response. And wanna touch on a couple of things. Meetups and music going hand in hand. As you may be aware of, I've been running the bitcoin essex meetups since 2020. And have always wanted live performance to be integrated with the meetups. Since meeting nostr:nprofile1qqsgnlm9sc...
