Just a quick FYI for both of you/ plus anyone ever reading this note (though Matt probably already knows this): Amplified Tunes isn’t direct competition or an alternative to Wavlake, Fountain, or any other streaming platforms. Yeah, we have internal players on the site, but that's just to give visitors a taste of featured artists. Otherwise, we mostly link out to Fountain — esp. to help newcomers to the v4v space get used to one simple tool. Wavlake, for example, has way too much AI-generated content and tends to crash a lot on mobile.
Our goal, in a nutshell, is to offer a solid overview of the space and help with discovery + engagement. That’s why we have things like EPK Lite (full bios & useful links), different editorials, simple tags with high-level location and music genres, themed playlists, a magazine, and an upcoming show. And yeah, we share collected funds with featured artists, plus do our best to encourage others to tip them directly but yeah, important to remember that we're not another Wavlake, Fountain etc, nor open source or decentralized (yet... 🙃 because if many reasons).
