Unpopular take: monarchs have better incentive alignment than democracies.
Why?
Their legacy is their children's inheritance.
They think in generations, not election cycles.
Our democracy has leaders who think in quarters and produces citizens who can't think past next month.

We traded long-term vision for short-term wins.
We need structures that reward long-term thinking again. What do you think that looks like?

Exploiting others, and turning blinds eyes to their needs partitions the mind, whether politician or king. You can’t be an asshole and enlightened, can’t have clarity and choose blindness at the same time.

Politicians are deleted. Government is reduced to a national network of guardians that protect property rights of citizens, the resources of the nation and defend foreign invaders. All power and decision making is pushed to the local level. Families with the most resources will become quasi monarchs...

I think the incentives of a monarch are definitely the most enduring and aligned for the preservation of legacy. But I think Polybius’ concept of anacyclosis is a thing. Monarchy gives way to Tyranny. Tyranny is overthrown by Aristocracy. Aristocracy gives way to Oligarchy. Democracy rises from ...

Most who would want a monarchy fancy themselves as part of the ruling class rather than the peasants. I’m good with any form of government as long as you put me in change.

There's nothing obvious about why a Monarchy would care only about "their nation" insofar as it means that they and possibly their children are wealthy and comfortable. The rest of us Peons can go kick rocks. Also, plenty of documented cases of monarchs who don't give a flip about their kids. Als...

You are mostly right, same with unlimited term presidents also. Much better in general. But because of humans tendency to become corrupt, the four year cycle with a second term keeps things balanced and protects from authoritarianism.

Separation of powers is a lie too, it’s cooperation, redundancy and obfuscation combined: “legs that can run now.”
