A bingo ball would be better since this method the distribution doesn't change left to right as randomly as it should. Then you're introducing less randomness if you decide where you're going to pick from to try to "randomize it". I mean it's still probably fine. It's be fun to take a really big sample and see how much better it is than cold card still. And I believe it's much better.
