Many that are socially awkward but immensely talented and focused are on the spectrum. Musk has mused. Gates has claimed. I suspect Ichiro Suzuki who still 10 years after retirement sticks to a strict daily regiment. Einstein failed out of school. Mozart and other prodigious musicians could've been. It's a vast spectrum and we didn't define (mistakenly) autism until 1911 and it was for schizophrenia.

Check the Netflix show "Love on the Spectrum" and you'll be more introduced to how vast it is. The only autistic kids I know are, unfortunately, heavily autistic/non-verbal. But that show is really heartwarming. You might find it goofy or silly but in the end you'll find so much in common (and I suspect that was the point).
