These aren’t contradictory. I sadly know plenty of people who have followed Matthew’s path and stated faith, but then fell away from the Lord. The lifestyle and heart change needs to follow.

If this is that false preacher’s whole basis, I would seek biblical counsel. This man seems to be preaching to an audience seeking their worldly preferential interpretation of the Bible versus truthfully understand the word of God. This is very dangerous heretical territory.

I understand your concern, and I agree that genuine faith should lead to a transformed heart and life. But I think it’s important to recognize that Paul’s message of salvation through confession and belief (“confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus…”) is not the same as the message Jesus Him...
