there is a vaccine that triggered people to develop narcolepsy back in 2009-2010. and the mounting evidence that vaccines in general are causing changes in people's neurobology are getting a lot clearer. this is one you may not have heard of with all the autism talk:
Pandemrix. GlaxoSmithKline's AS03-adjuvanted H1N1 swine flu vaccine, mass-deployed in 2009-2010 across Scandinavia and other European countries.
After the vaccination campaign, the risk of narcolepsy was increased 5- to 14-fold in children and adolescents and 2- to 7-fold in adults. Swedish and Finnish authorities identified the signal first — a three- to fourfold increased risk in vaccinated children was verified by epidemiological studies.
The mechanism: narcolepsy is caused by the loss of hypothalamic hypocretin (orexin)-producing neurons. The autoimmune destruction of these neurons was driven by molecular mimicry — the influenza nucleoprotein in the vaccine shared amino acid sequences with the human orexin/hypocretin receptor 2, so the immune system attacked the vaccine antigen and the patient's own orexin neurons.
In Finland, 152 cases of narcolepsy were found during 2009-2010, and ninety percent had received the Pandemrix vaccination. All vaccine-related cases were narcolepsy type 1, characterized by hypocretin deficiency in the central nervous system.
