Supporting free speech has also become a sort of trend these days, but I don't think we fully realize the gravity of how essential it truly is in the real world.

Today, let me share something personal that I don't often discuss:

My hometown is a "disputed territory" where every piece of information, whether it's entering or leaving the state, has to undergo censorship. Social media companies are compelled to collaborate because it is considered a matter of "national security." They don't have a option.

Even maps are subject to censorship; if I were to use the map you are currently using in my hometown, I would be charged under the UAPA (treason). Btw I don't live there anymore but my people do.

I cannot emphasize enough how empowering it is to have a voice. Trust me, there is nothing worse than experiencing oppression and getting censored.

Nostr offers hope to many people worldwide, including those from my hometown. It is personal for me.
