So the goal was to measure Bitcoin blocks in joules. Looking at Bitcoin we identified the objective transformation as what we call a thermological process (pow with a difficulty logic gate) that produces a chronological state (block of time).
Information has become a loaded term. I want to separate the bits of information relating to the blocksize, hashes, headers, signatures, ect and hone in on a very precise definition of “information” or entropy in Shannon’s definition, which is the bits of information created from a finite bounded state of some bounded value space of Satoshis. Looking at the probabilities of Satoshis being included in a block wrt to supply. The reason is because the 21M is the substrate energy/value is conserved through in the transformation. So when we go from Boltzmann entropy through pow at difficulty to a finite block, the energy is conserved through the Shannon entropy written as a conserved state through the bits of value.
This conserved state can be quantified in bits of information/bits of entropy. Entropy on both sides of equation conserved through energy. “Temporal Isomorphism” between temperature/entropy. These bits are different from the bits each node must store in physical mb from the block, yet they are inherently related.
Genesis had a probability of 1 ln(1)=0; U=0 at genesis. Each block of time adds non-zero internal energy to the system starting from T=0, U=0. An accumulation of bits, is an accumulation of energy, thus an accumulation of time. Think semantic triangle for one process. All are valid representations of quantized time/change.
On top of compressing equations i need to start releasing charts analyzing the whole chain. I plan to build this in to a block explorer. Hopefully I can build it all with Claude 😅
