I just changed the oil, oil filter & spark plugs on my wife's little car.

3 simple tasks that every man should be able to do & costs about $100. It's essentially the bulk of most car's scheduled services in the owners manual.

I'm no mechanic & I've learned most of what I know about cars from tinkering, stuffing up & watching youtube videos.

You can just service your own old clanker & the govt can't tax you for it.

She also had a squeaky belt which I diagnosed & replaced using YouTube vids for $30. I replaced the other 2 as well because I had to take 1 off to get to the squeaker.

Feeling pretty manly right now.

I might go grind some meat & grill a burger.

Servicing brakes, steering and ball joints are the other main service items needed every 30k to 60k miles.
