Brazilian guy complaining that Nostr is monothematic and that he doesn't get many followers in comparison with his other social networks:

Although I disagree with his tone and his expectations, I agree that Nostr being monothematic is a very bad thing. I'm hopeful it will improve over time and there are some initiatives pushing us for that, but still it is undeniably a bad thing and probably the first reason why we're losing to Bluesky in number of users.

Another bad thing are these follower counts. These counts should have never been a real thing, they are misleading and just confuse people, but what can I do about them?

Bluesky does have the advantage that it's always mentioned in articles about twitter alts so more likely to be given chance by people with different interests. Someone needs to contact nostr CEO to up the marketing budget!

What if his content is just not so interesting to the current nostr population? Also i think social media should not be about follower count. It should be about socializing. So people talking about content they care and that interests them.

he promotes his books/courses/teatrical pieces/shows on social networks. Follower counts mean a lot to him, it is not "just socializing". (he has 23K on twitter) For the good or the bad, some measure of reach is useful for those who exploit social networks commercially. How would he know if his work...

I think communities will help. I have a bunch of random interests but don't feel like posting about them on my feed.
