Proof of work is completely unrelated.
Has nothing to do with the value of Btc.

Btc gets its value from human speculation and gambling against other currencies.

Btc is worth what it's worth ONLY because enough people agree it's worth that.
Same as any other currency or stock that people trade.

Proof of work is just what allows "printing" to be decentralised.
