I swear the internet has made humanity dumber overall than at any point in history. https://v.nostr.build/wFBMpnoz9ftRQWJt.mp4 nostr:nevent1qqsfwgzpjjhl7433u0fq2sh2aehj5wygvaq7u3sgxum3kqyjghtlm8gpzem...

With the risk of being labed as a flat earther, I can't help wondering how exactly they measured the distance between the two cities. Most people end up in a circle when they walk in the local woods, but this guy walked 800 kilometers in a perfect straight line - apart from the curvature of the earth, obviously.

But what do I know?
... and who am I to even ask questions? Carl Sagan tells the story, so it must be 100% true 🤷‍♂️

They didn’t really have much else to do back then. The Nile River basin is also pretty much just wide open land, not a lot of woods. He paid a guy, the guy did the job. https://image.nostr.build/e708c2b3e901366b8f455e55adcdf7a6b193bf73065ad9756c9aada37878a1c3.jpg
