SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the protocol used to transfer email between computers.
The "app" the people use to read email varies. Some use Outlook, other use Apple Mail, and so on.
The protocol allows all the different apps to communicate - as long as they adhere to the protocol

Nostr is the protocol to deliver "Notes and Other Stuff Through Relays" between computers.
Primal is one a app build on the Nostr protocol Aamethydt is another and there are many more.

He is still alive, and I think he's still active and doing interviews on podcasts :-)

Look into the work of (now retired) Dr. Olle Johansson (Karolinska Institutet, Department of Neuroscience, Stockholm). He was talking about these things decades ago, but no one wanted to listen back then either ...

With the risk of being labed as a flat earther, I can't help wondering how exactly they measured the distance between the two cities. Most people end up in a circle when they walk in the local woods, but this guy walked 800 kilometers in a perfect straight line - apart from the curvature of the earth, obviously.
