My husband is driving to the bank to try to sort out ongoing issues with wire transfers to our own account in Egypt.

We used to transfer with no issues but lately they have been blocked. And they don’t make it clear where it was blocked, so we have to talk to banks on both sides and triangulate where the issue is. It could be related to Egypt’s ongoing currency crisis since they’ve been doing some capital controls, but we don’t know yet.

And in the meantime we’ve been sending money via a remittance service instead, which is about 5x more expensive in terms of fees.

Fiat system is going great. Keep it up guys. Absolutely nothing to disrupt here.

I read this survival book once and supposedly only 2/10 people are 'get up and go', the rest 8/10 wait to be rescued. People have been found dead, still strapped in their plane seat after a crash, died waiting to be rescued. I think this is what we are seeing en masse right now right before our very...

Hi Lyn, I’m a fan. Listened to you be interviewed several times, bought your book, etc. In my experience, oftentimes highly intelligent and experienced people such as yourself have so much information that you end up hamstringing yourself. Go trade some fiat for Bitcoin and give it to someone wh...

maybe i should go back to my home country of Ukraine, get drafted, and then complain why i can't buy the things i like in some frozen trench and conclude it must be Fiat at fault. or you could get a clue and realize that Egypt is a 3rd world country and things aren't supposed to work in any way sha...

Not a shill for the company and I'm sure this will draw the ire of a few maxis but I've used this company before when other means haven't been practical. If it's of help it might save a few $ on fees and time if you're not already familiar with this company. https://wise.com/

Went through this w/ my daughter who was traveling in Romania, but VISA/Credit Card services had adopted a new “security” service that only existed sometimes in some countries, but no one I could get on the phone recognized it in the US. It was a joke, and honestly, Bitcoin didn’t solve it eit...

Why?, why would someone w your deep insight into BTC still be even remotely trying to use tradfi for this instead of helping the “opt out” transition by instead educating those on the other end in Egypt on how they need and can opt out of fiat and receive BTC, USDT etc. instead?
Cristina · 120w
Why not put it on BTC and if you need to turn it into fiat, do it at an exchange and forward it? Makes no sense to keep fighting the banks. This is the exact reason why I got into Bitcoin, as I experienced this exact thing, that is not really new. Bitcoin is the solution to this problem i have be...
