Speaking this morning on CNBC, Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, addressed questions about whether Russia may be sharing intelligence with Iran during the ongoing conflict.
When asked if Moscow could be providing information on the location of United States military assets, Witkoff said he was not in a position to confirm any intelligence details but noted that Russian officials denied the allegation in recent discussions.
Witkoff said Donald Trump spoke with Russian representatives yesterday, during which they stated they were not sharing intelligence with Iran. He added that he and Jared Kushner also held a separate call with Russian presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov, who reiterated the same position.
Witkoff concluded that the question ultimately falls to intelligence officials, saying, “We can take them at their word… but that’s really a question for the intel people. Let’s hope they’re not sharing.”
