When chocolate prices spiked in 2023 due to climate driven shortages in West Africa, the big global manufacturers; Hershey, Nestlé, Cadbury, Mars, didn’t absorb the cost. They adapted.

They quietly started replacing real cocoa with cheaper sugar-&-oil substitutes, turning “chocolate” into hollow, flavorless garbage candy.

This isn’t innovation, it’s betrayal. It’s deceptive cost cutting. They are keeping prices artificially low while quality completely erodes & our taste buds & bodies pay the price.

I’m actually more surprised that they just did this recently. I thought their products went south years ago & that they went cheap to save their margins then
