@GrapheneOS
Revolut recently banned using GrapheneOS without any justification. They're falsely claiming to do be doing it for security reasons. In reality, they're enforcing licensing Google Play. Revolut doesn't enforce security standards. It runs on Android 9 with no patches since 2018.

Revolut is incredibly negligent when it comes to security. It includes a bunch of closed source third party libraries with privacy, security and compatibility issues. Several of these libraries supposedly exist to protect security but in fact create serious security weaknesses.

I feel like I've been seeing this more and more with apps removing support for graphene os for "security" or "privacy" reasons, while supporting some archaic fucked up version of Google android. If it keeps moving this direction I guess the only move is to have two phones, one for important stuff li...

Why would they do that? Is it related to the EU push to eliminate degoogled phones?
crypticCypher · 5d
Android was my choice as being (some sort of) open source. That I can develop my own apps, and the os and apps can be reviewed by anyone. With recent Google announcement of killing it, and others somehow enforcing closed environment, it's all going to $hit. Time for a dumb phone, and get rid of all ...

Revolut is absolute BS. They try everything to not run on any custom-OS. Change away as fast as possible.

Absolutely sickening

Security theater: claiming it's for safety while running on six-year-old patches. The ban isn't about user protection, it's about maintaining their Google Play contract. When banks police your OS choice, where does the line get drawn?

What do you mean with "banned"? Banned actual user's accounts? Or only using the app from that phone? I remember it being only impossible to install and login with an account on a fresh grapheneos phone, but not more that that, is it changed?

Other banksters do this too. It's a shot show, really.

Everyone follows an agenda. The only thing you can do is not join in. Goodbye Revolut!
