And the media space just sucks for consumers who want literally any form of anonymity or privacy. I've tried many streaming platforms, but I can't access nearly any of them reliably because they use vercel or cloudflare or other forms of bot protections that also block legit users (me). Many also require accounts if you can ever get to them. And we still can't trust them being available for a reasonable period of time. Im tired of paying for things I can't own or access when I want them.
In 2026 CD's are still the most reliable form for us privacy guys to legally acquire you're music. And even that's a bummer because new CD prices are hard to justify too. I can go to my local thrift stores and pick them up by the dozen, or hit yard sales and people are often giving boxes of them away.
Paying a "reasonable" price and getting a download for a wav, mp3 or whatever file without an account or a photo of my left butt cheek would be nice.
I understand hosting hurdles, I do it every day. Point is, it's so much easier to pirate than it is to acquire legally. But in the US you can now face jail time for piracy so... Even talking about pirating things is conspiracy and could itself be a felony.
