Just finished The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I can’t believe I’ve lived 3 decades without knowing of or reading that book. Should be mandatory reading! Such a wonderful parable.

Now for the exciting journey of getting to pick my next book. I love this part.

I’ve read 28 books so far this year (goal is always 12 a year), and I just fed the list to an AI engine, which told me the following.. “You’re developing an interesting “through-line” in your reading: people trying to survive systems larger than themselves — money, addiction, gangs, fame, capitalism, religion, crime, legacy. That thread shows up over and over in your picks.” I thought that was rather interesting and telling, while still taken with a grain of salt.

Anyone have suggestions for my next read, or things I should add to my list? I’m leaning toward The Marathon Don’t Stop next, I love(d) Nipsey, and like to bounce between genres to avoid reading burnout.
