Egg lady dropped off a delivery to me today and she gave me a couple of duck eggs to try (on the right).

Anyone else try duck eggs?

Yes, right from our pond a couple of years ago, laid by wild ducks in the pond, which is apparently common. https://i.nostr.build/uDYK5QPKAw1JBZWe.jpg https://i.nostr.build/IbInXWEwCrYeme5l.jpg https://i.nostr.build/oOBz1KGAsIJO8reK.jpg

imo duck eggs are better than chicken eggs. nutrition is higher per gram. and they just taste better. I was getting duck eggs regularly but my suppliers learn that hatching out is more profitable. I get duck eggs whenever I can.

They're a lot more cholesteroly than chicken eggs, but they're great. And they become blue if you boil them in water

Duck eggs taste better. The yolks are creamier. Chicken eggs are "drier".

Duck eggs are delicious. You can definitely taste the difference when baking with them.

Scrambling them is the best way to make them taste like chicken eggs for those that don't enjoy their delicious thinker yoke. Its a bit 'chalky' so texture is mostly what some don't like.

Lucky you 😊 We have lots of duck eggs! They're supposed to be great for baking (I don't bake, though, so I can't vouch for that). Compared to chicken eggs, the yolks are huge and the whites are more dense. However, we generally scramble our eggs, which means I don't notice much difference except...
