Good Lord, US military propaganda does a lot of heavy lifting. The reality is not nearly so impressive, whether we're talking about the 1960s or the 2020s.

I keep asking...both about the Trump administration & now about the Johnson administration "do any of these people know what a war IS or how you win one?"
