That's legit, but I'm pointing out that China is a big territory and you only see a section of it.

China has seen two big "viral movements" on recent years, tang ping (lay flat) and bai lan (let it rot).

I have not spent much time on the ground, but it'd seem to me that chinese youth is turning towards nihilism just as much as western youth. Not usually a sign of "anything is within our reach" mentality.
