few science museums achieve that level of interactivity, don't get me wrong. im not saying this is a common thing in other science museums thats lacking in the Bay Area ones

but the great science museums at least make up for it with architectural awe

you may not be able to touch the dinosaurs and learn how paleontologists excavate a fossil in a hands on fashion, but you can at least stand under an imposing T. Rex or Brontosaurus, and think "my gosh, what monsters! i want to unearth these myself!"
