Stop fighting wars and revise the phylogeny of the Palaearctic Formica fusca group. There are ants just walking around in your back yard, common ants and almost nobody knows anything about them. We struggle to give them names. These are keystone species. If they vanished the whole ecosystem would topple, but how exactly that might go down is also poorly understood.

I'm not talking about rare creatures. There are common creatures that are "understudied" ... and they are part of our ecosystems.
