I spend many hours every week showing other Nostr users that, yes you have control what servers you choose to associate yourself with, yes you can keep a degree of control over your media files, yes you can delete stuff, no you don't have to be exposed to spam all the time, no all your conversations don't have to be completely public...

I also spend many hours demonstrating and explaining how to launch various styles of communities, introducing the tools to compliment them, and going over how to begin managing them. The interest exists. The tools exist. The UX is constantly improving. I haven't even begun to reach outside of Nostr yet. My available time has been maximally filled with those who are using the protocol now. (I wish I could put more hours towards it.)

My point being, though, that when curious people are given a path to understanding, they often do, they get excited about it, and they start creating for their own vision.
